Planet Wine love the sociability of the world of wine, the stories that abound, the families, the history, the legacies and the laughter and fun that is and has been shared around the world in the company of wine and other alcoholic beverages. Their fun became passion became a business (of passion) in 2002, when Planet Wine was officially registered.
They travel the world and visit wine fairs and wineries (and great restaurants) to find wines that they LOVE and they believe you will LOVE too. Planet Wine focus on brands and products that are different, that have a story to tell, that have history and character. Their philosophy is to build a community around its products, including suppliers, employees and customers with a focus on building long-term relationships.
On the club night we will be tasting the following South African Wines:
Iona Sauvignon Blanc 2006 (cool climate white)
Ken Forrester Chenin Blanc 2008 (off-dry white)
Leopard's Leap Pinotage Shiraz 2006 (medium red)
Kanonkop Kadette 2008 (red blend)
Flagstone Writer's Block Pinotage 2004 (full bodied red)
Meerlust Rubicon 2005 (red blend)
Kaapzicht Hanepoot 2006 (fortified sweet wine)
Klein Constantia Vin de Constance 2004 (sweet wine)
A night for Wine Enthusiasts who enjoy diverse wines, great food, good company and plenty of fun along the way. Monthly Tasting Meeting with Guest Speakers, plus a chance to purchase the wines, followed by a meal and time for socialising.
Wines presented are an interesting variety and typically not those found on 'special' in supermarkets.
Mid Winter party and Christmas Party. Tasting day trips and Special Tasting Nights. "Foodie" evenings at a restuarant with a special theme - hopefully a new experience for many and guaranteed enjoyable time for all.
One of the many wonderful days to be had with us is a two day tour of Aucklands own tropical-island paradise, including wine and olive tastings, fine dining and unsurpassed vistas. Tours includes accommodation, continental breakfast, two luncheons, wines, coach travel, ferries and connections. Click for more information to get a full run down of events.
